Latin pop sits closer to mainstream pop than to reggaeton: acoustic guitars, ballads and big singalong choruses. Guessing it from five seconds usually comes down to the voice and the hook. Luis Fonsi's "Despacito" is the one everybody knows, but his catalogue goes back well before it, and the older ballads are much harder to name.
Luis Miguel is the deep end. His recordings span bolero, mariachi and pop, so the arrangement alone tells you which part of his career a clip came from. Sebastián Yatra, Camilo and Danna Paola are newer and lean on pop production, and Camilo's soft, high voice is easy to spot. Groups like Reik and CNCO bring vocal harmonies, which are a clue in themselves, since a solo singer won't have them. If the opening is a guitar line, think ballad first. Danny Ocean, Piso 21 and Alvaro Soler are here too.
